Site & Resume update - 10/27
Much need and long overdue updates.
Headin back south - 2/12
This time, not quite so far south. Only a 10.5 hour drive from Philly to Charleston SC where I start work on monday for the Kiz Toys Creative Studio. Can't wait.
Reel updated - 6/16
Finally uploaded my new reel. It includeds work from my last quarter at SCAD. A friend is working on adding music so that should be done soon. Check it out.
Final 10 Weeks - 3/25
So Im back in Savannah for one final quarter here at SCAD. LA was amazing, so much to try and absorb in 10 days. I'm still a bit tired from traveling, but I'm excited to get working. I have some interesting ideas to play with. Also while in LA it came to my attenion that youtube videos can be veiwed at their original quality, or closer to it, by adding "&fmt=18" to the end of the URL. Pretty cool.
Site's Ready - 3/13
So am I. I have the final March version of my reel, you choose if you want music or not. A breakdown sheet is on the projects page, and my resume is on the bio page. Everything should be in place so that I can just post updates and add current work. Im in LA now catching up with an old friend and seeing some of the sights. On Sunday I meet up with the SCAD professors and students.
More updates - 3/4
I lost the sidebar sub-menu, changed the main menu. Also changed the encoding on the flash version of my reel, and made a quicktime version available. A .pdf version of my resume is also available under the bio tab.
Facelift - 3/1
Opted for a cleaner look, its much better. Also the still gallery is up and so in the new intro page. Soon I'll be adding a project page with descriptions/breakdowns of each projcet. After that its back to working on the reel, preping for studio 2 and my upcoming trip to LA, complete with visits to Rythem & Hues, Digital Domain, and Dreamworks.
Page Updates - 2/28
Ok so heres what I gotten done so far. I've got the still gallery more or less setup, just need to go back and re-render a few things. Im not sure if Im going include any of the stills from my studio site. I still have to change the sidebar menu to show this change. Also until I finish cutting my reel togeather for portfolio im not going to update the version on the site. When I do however I am also going to a hi-res download version as well as dowloads, summaries, and breakdowns sheets for each peice. What slowing me down now is my computer. My lil' 12inch Powerbook gets about 20-30 mis of battery life, and now the AC adaptor cord has frayed and stopped working, turning it into a shinny sticker-covered paper weight. I have most of my files on external drives but a few things like the PSD files for the site are on it, so the cosmetic changes will have to wait. I also put an artist statement up in the bio section, well see how long I leave it up. I also want to prep modles and textures for my spring classes.
AndrewLyons.net - 2/26
Its been a while. I've been doing other things, namely creating the content and reason for this site, my digital portfolio. I've have also been blogging with a group of friends about an upcoming road trip at AmericaByHighway. I have recently staterted working a part-time job again to help pay for things like... This new domain name. I am going to use this site to host my portfolio site, while also using my SCAD studentpages site to my Studio 1 site. Over the next few days I hope to make a few updates to this site, mainly uploading the most recent version of my reel. I also need to create a splash/intro page and convert the exercises page in to a still gallery. Should be done by tomarrow.
Rollovers & Links - 12/6
•I changed the menu links to roll-overs and created the pages they link to. I still need to work on the content of these pages and might need to come-up with text styles for some of them. I am also going to need to address the issue of how I will display work in progress.
CSS Working - 12/4
•I got the Cascading Style Sheets setup and working. I know alto of this stuff is really basic and some of it is old, or could be done very easily using templates, but I like getting dirty with some code. Im also taking a C++ class when I get back to school, this winter quarter, so I figure this is kind of a warm-up for that.
Text Styles - 12/1
•I picked a font for the site. The classic, timeless, and the web-safe Helvetica font. For a you Windows people, you'll most likely be stuck looking at the cheap knock-off, Arial. Here is a quick history lesson on the sleak Helvetica, or just check its wiki page. |
